Thank you for helping us make sense of gluten. I am very grateful.
Thank you all for sending me the right direction.
Have been trying to heal from years of the ravages of celiac disease. I started this journey, very sick, in need of a miracle as I was ready to drive myself off a cliff.
Then one morning about 2 years ago, I gave listen to Dr. Eydi Bauer on a local radio program. I had put this radio show on me calendar as I “just knew” I was supposed to give that listen.Dr. Bauer had written her book on gluten intolerance, how it affected her life and what she did to get well. It’s all in her book, a quick read and so helpful with getting me on the right track. Since the day of the radio show, I have not knowingly ingested gluten and I am healing! the name of Dr. Bauer’s book is, “Life After Bread”
I feel that dietary changes needing to be made are some of the toughest in life to make. But to feel better, to get well, we must. Now, 2 years later, I can honestly say the “I know that I will get well, I am getting well”. I continually tweak my diet to only what “feels good” in me body. That which does not cause dis-ease when eaten.
I just listed to your story and it sound very similar to mine. I had years of exhaustion, depression panic attacks, pain and GI symptoms including severe abdominal pain in the last six months before finding out about celiac and gluten intolerance that have stopped now that I am gluten free. I have had to do tons of research and could probably write a book by now on what I have learned about what to what, what not to eat and am becoming an expert on dining out. Thank you so much for your posts and blogs. They have greatly added to my body of knowledge. Probably the most important thing is for those of us to learn we are not alone and to share our knowledge. THANK YOU!
